All volunteers, staff, customers, donors, guest,s and visitors play an important role in making our work environment a safe, healthy, and welcoming place for all. Every person who enters our facility is valued and appreciated. The workplace environment of CWC is founded on respect for each and every person, no matter their race, gender, age, religion, ability, sexual orientation, national origin, marital or military status.
The following are not permitted: The use and possession of drugs, alcohol, and any form of harassment or solicitation is inconsistent with our mission. In order to maintain health and safety for all, everyone is required to refrain from profanity, angry outbursts, or any behavior that is deemed disrespectful or dehumanizing to others.
Please leave valuables at home. CWC can not be responsible for missing or damaged items. Please don’t use phone while volunteering hours breaks will always be given.
In the unlikely case that someone persists in demonstrating unacceptable behavior, we shall take even and fair action consistent with the situation to preserve and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for everyone. This may include being excluded from performing community service.
Volunteer Safety:
Safety is a top priority within our organization. We frequently use heavy equipment such as saws and drills. Large vehicles come and go throughout the day. Large heavy materials are unloaded and loaded throughout the facility. To ensure your safety and the safety of others. Volunteers must wear appropriate work clothes attire at all times. To prevent accidents and injuries, excessively loose clothing that could catch on materials can’t be worn. Pants must be pulled up, shoelaces tied. No one is permitted to use headphones, earbuds, hands, or hands-free phone devices at any time while volunteering in any work area.
I understand that safety is everyone’s responsibility, including my own. Keeping myself and others around me safe from potential injury will be my top priority while I volunteer. I have read the CWC Volunteer Safety Guidelines and I will follow them at all times.
Safety glasses, gloves, and instruction on the proper use of tools and equipment will be provided.
Privacy:
Everyone’s privacy is important at our organization. We respectfully request you refrain from sharing circumstances and details of why you are required to complete Community Service with others during any portion of your volunteer experience. Please refrain from asking others their circumstances for volunteering.
I understand I will be required to work in an environment that is open to the general public and that it is my responsibility to preserve and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for everyone.
I do not have legal or medical restrictions that restrict me from being in the same vicinity of any specific demographic, such as minors or others.
Release of Liability Waiver: I hereby agree, for myself, my heirs, assigns, executors, and administrators, to release and hold harmless Community Wellness Center, and all its officers, directors, employees, agents, and volunteers from all claims, demands and actions for injuries sustained to my person and/or property as a result of my volunteer involvement, whether or not resulting from negligence. Arbitration will be used to resolve any conflicts, and costs will be evenly split between involved parties. I hereby state that my involvement with Community Wellness Center is voluntary; that I am participating at my own and that I have read and agree to the foregoing terms and conditions of this release.
