One of the most enduring efforts of the Community Wellness Center (CWC) is the stewardship of the Columbia River. Columbia River is a huge resource of biodiversity for our wildlife and near the largest commercial hubs on the West coast. Parts of Sauvie island has been designated as a Marine Reserve and is home to several significant sites.
Community Wellness Center with help of National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s (NFWF) would like to enter the lease of several acres of Columbia River shore on Sauvie Island. Community Wellness Center has developed plans to restore the site and provide full-time local caretakers, site maintenance, community exchange of conservation efforts, and bathroom facilities.
